Energy Team: Introduction

The mission of the Energy Team is to ensure that all disaster response Teams and facilities are powered up and ready to operate when an emergency happens. They set up and manage generator-based backup systems, microgrids, and solar-powered systems. They manage the systems after the disaster hits and during recovery, gradually transitioning back to more permanent systems.
Pre-Disaster Responsibilities
Before a disaster, the Energy Team assesses the specific energy needs of your Anytown Prepares teams and facilities and then meets with all stakeholders to determine the best way to use technology to meet those needs. The Team also sets up the energy systems for facilities and teams.
Disaster Responsibilities
When activated, the Energy Team supports all the other teams of your Anytown Prepares organization as well as the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to make sure technology is powered up and serving its purpose.
Recovery Responsibilities
During recovery, the team helps to temporarily bridge energy infrastructure and then supports power utilities in their repair work, working to restore the community to a regular power supply.
