Disciplinary Policy Template

Disciplinary Policy

Team Leads can immediately remove a volunteer from an activity (e.g., send someone home from an event) as well as notify law enforcement and partnership leadership in cases of emergent and serious criminal activity (assault & battery, etc.). All other lesser priority actions require notification of and involvement from the [Name] Executive Team or the Partnership Management Team.

The Executive Team will assign a priority level and respond accordingly. At least two members of the Executive or Partnership Management Team will follow up with the complainant to gather further information. If further information is needed, additional information may be gathered by other direct witnesses.

Volunteers who do not adhere to the rules and procedures of this policy or who do not satisfactorily perform their volunteer assignments are subject to discipline and/or dismissal. Disciplinary action shall range from verbal warnings to immediate discharge, depending on the seriousness of the offense in the judgment of management. Possible grounds for immediate dismissal include gross misconduct or insubordination; theft of property or misuse of partnership materials; abuse or mistreatment of clients, staff or other volunteers; not abiding by partnership policies and procedures; and not satisfactorily performing assigned duties.”

The scope of this policy applies to all [Name] volunteers who were issued an Emergency Management volunteer card.
