
Child Safety and Reunification Team: Scope of Practice
Mission
To care for and support unaccompanied minors until their approved adult can pick them up
Pre-Disaster Activities
Participate in community-sponsored training, drills, and exercises as schedule allows.
Participate in staffing outreach/information booths for community events.
Activation Timeline
48 hours post incident for initial setup, 72 hours post incident for operations
Post-Disaster Activation
Report to the Child Reunification Center (CRC) after a disaster occurs according to recall procedures.
Submit completed windshield survey for the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) upon arrival at the CRC.
Transport to the Disaster Medical Center (DMC) for medical care.
Hours will vary based on the nature of the incident but will not exceed one 12-hour shift/24-hour period for a maximum of 14 consecutive days.
Supervision Responsibilities
Supervise children residing at the CRC.
