
Ready Your Street Team: Scope of Practice
Mission
To provide leadership and disaster preparedness and response support for the Ready Your Street program.
Pre-Disaster Activities
Facilitate RYS kick-off meetings for participating Streets.
Provide participating Streets with RYS handouts.
Manage overall Street participation inventory and maps.
Conduct ongoing public education about the program.
Participate in City-sponsored training, drills, and exercises as their schedule allows.
Participate in outreach/information booths for neighborhood and community events.
Activation Timeline
RYS Team members do not activate as a team after a disaster. They perform their RYS duties for their own Streets.
Supervision Responsibilities
Volunteer supervises Street Captains and ensures they have the materials they need and are maintaining their Streets’ readiness.
