Step 1. Gather professional first responder organization leads, the municipality and/or county emergency manager, and the leadership of your Anytown Prepares organization to work out the details of your partnership.

Step 2. Identify the parameters of the partnership.

Step 3. Determine which organization will take the lead on each function of the partnership, both pre- and post-disaster.

Step 4. Establish an emergency response plan.

Step 5. Meet regularly to assess problems and update plans.

Step 6. Develop Standard Operating Procedures for the team.

Step 8. Identify pre- and post-disaster actions for the partnership.
